Book Cover project in the works

I'm working on creating a cover for a teen fantasy chapter book!
The title is Anstice which means Rebirth. Leyla has a mysterious life changing adventure in another world where she can speak with animals and develops magical powers.
Here is a sneak peek  of some of my ideas. The Author likes #3 so I will work on developing that sketch, stay tuned!
This image below is one of my favorites that I played with value and color schemes.

Mermaid in the making!

This lovely lady mermaid I created for a silkscreen design with 3-4 colors. It never made it to the final stage but still has the potential to find its way onto t-shirts someday for Fairweather Prints!   For now I thought I'd post it and I'm working on making it into a card for an upcoming market in Sitka.
Mermaid s are fun I'd love to more :)

Face painting at Homeskillet fest

Festival logo on my face! My friend Heather painted this !

Heather on the bottom right, and I in the middle , painted peoples faces for hours Friday and Saturday night at Homeskillet fest! Amazing variety of great live music and food in Sitka.
While listening to the bands I painted nonstop , butterfly wings, swirls, fish, hippos , spiderman, a few jelly fish and even a whale and more!
Painting kids and adults faces was a challenge but good practice to use confident lines and intuitive colors!
It was fun and everyone we painted left happy !

Fish T shirt Design

Here are a few thumbnail sketches I drew, my client chose #10 for a kids T shirt design to sell at Sumner Brook Fish Farm in Ossipee, NH.
I created this on Adobe Photoshop, kinda wish I inked the fish by hand with pen and ink and then scanned it into the computer. Sometimes I think traditional media is faster!
This is the final  2 color silkscreen design -a Rainbow Trout .
Hope people snatch up this T shirt and other gifts when they visit the Fish Farm!

Highlights from my day job!

These are original Hand Painted Panels I designed at Fairweather Prints studio in Sitka, Alaska! This is the fun part of my job!
Each piece is a silkscreen design that I created by hand & on the computer. The black designs are silk screened on fabric and then I paint the colorful line work, like in Halibut & the last 2 images. The Raven and the Bear are Christie Jones designs that I spruced up with my hand painting!
I also created this Bear wall hanging digitally, to show a sample of a fun project you can make with our Hand Painted panels!
You can find them for sale at Fairweather Gallery in Juneau, Alaska and on the web at http://fairweatherprints.com/?page=store  Enjoy!
Buy this unique hand made gift  today for that artist or crafter in your life!
